Moonshot

In a future where Mars has been made habitable and settled by a select group of colonists, two college students with little in common end up working together. Sophie hopes to reunite with her boyfriend Calvin, who left for the red planet on what was supposed to be a short assignment, while Walt, a barista at a campus bookstore, tags along. Their plan involves stowing away on a shuttle bound for Mars, and the journey takes them off course in ways neither expected.

Moonshot is a science-fiction romantic comedy directed by Christopher Winterbauer, the second feature in his filmography, from a screenplay by Max Taxe. Cole Sprouse and Lana Condor lead the cast as Walt and Sophie, with Mason Gooding as Calvin, alongside Emily Rudd, Christine Adams, Michelle Buteau and others in a credited cast of 23. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Jill McElroy produced for Berlanti Productions, New Line Cinema and Entertainment 360.
