Landscape with Invisible Hand

Set in a near future, Landscape with Invisible Hand follows a teenage artist named Adam adjusting to life after an alien species called the Vuvv has taken control of Earth. The aliens brought advanced technology, but its benefits stayed mostly with the wealthy, and most human work became obsolete, leaving many families struggling. When Adam and his girlfriend, Chloe, learn that the Vuvv are fascinated by human love and will pay to watch it, they begin livestreaming their relationship to earn money for their families.

Cory Finley wrote and directed the film, his third feature after Thoroughbreds and Bad Education. It was produced by Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner for Plan B Entertainment, with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Annapurna Pictures, and its cast includes Asante Blackk, Kylie Rogers, Tiffany Haddish, Brooklynn MacKinzie, Josh Hamilton and Michael Gandolfini. Released in 2023, the film runs 105 minutes and mixes comedy and drama with science fiction.

The ratings point to a mixed response. On IMDb it holds 5.9 out of 10 from roughly 4,400 votes, and on TMDB it sits at 6 out of 10 from about 125 votes. A critics' rating of 6.4 out of 10 from 87 reviews places it slightly above those audience scores, suggesting reviewers found somewhat more to appreciate than general viewers did.
