Lovelace

Lovelace tells the story of Linda Boreman, a young woman who becomes a global porn star in the early 1970s under the name Linda Lovelace following the success of Deep Throat. The film follows her from that sudden fame through her troubled marriage to Chuck Traynor, whom she later accused of coercing her into pornography and prostitution, and on to her break with the industry and her emergence as an activist against it. The narrative spans roughly a decade of her life.

Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman directed, working from a screenplay by Andy Bellin and drawing on Eric Danville's biography. It came after the pair's earlier collaboration Howl, and after Epstein's The Times of Harvey Milk and The Celluloid Closet. Amanda Seyfried plays the title role, with Peter Sarsgaard as Traynor, Sharon Stone as her mother, Robert Patrick as her father, Hank Azaria and Juno Temple among a credited cast of 37.

Released in 2013, the film had a budget of 10 million dollars and returned about 2 million worldwide. On IMDb it holds 6.2 out of 10 from 44,000 votes, and on TMDB 6 out of 10 from 796 votes, against a critics' rating of 5.6 out of 10 from 125 reviews.
