Terrorizers is a Taiwanese crime drama set in Taipei, where the paths of several city dwellers intersect over a span of weeks. Among them are a young woman who drifts through the city making anonymous phone calls, a photographer drawn to a girl he captured on film during a police raid, and a married couple whose relationship frays as the husband, a laboratory technician, waits for a promotion he believes will secure their future. A stray phone call sets off a chain of events that pulls these lives together. Edward Yang directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Hsiao Yeh, following his 1985 feature Taipei Story.
The film stars Cora Miao, Lee Li-Chun, King Shih-Chieh, Ku Pao-ming, Liu Ming and Wang An, and was produced by Central Motion Picture Corporation. It runs 109 minutes and blends crime, drama, mystery and thriller elements.
On IMDb it holds a rating of 7.7 from roughly 6,200 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 7.4 from about 178 votes, indicating a strong and reasonably consistent response from viewers across both platforms. Terrorizers came third in Yang's directing career, between Taipei Story and A Brighter Summer Day, part of the body of work that established him as a central figure in Taiwanese cinema.
