Afterlife of the Party

Cassie is a young woman who lives for parties and good times, rarely thinking about how her behavior affects the people around her. When she dies during the week of her birthday, she finds herself in the afterlife, where her way of living has left her shut out of the good place she hoped for. She is offered an unexpected second chance: she can return to Earth to make amends for the wrongs she committed, reconnect with the people she loves, and prove that she deserves a place among the angels. The film follows her efforts to set things right with her family and friends while coming to terms with the life she led.

Afterlife of the Party is a 2021 American comedy, drama and fantasy film directed by Stephen Herek, the seventeenth of the nineteen films he has directed in chronological order, following Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors and preceding Dog Gone. It was written by Carrie Freedle and produced by Vlokkie Gordon, Robyn Snyder and Deborah Evans. Victoria Justice plays Cassie, with Midori Francis, Robyn Scott, Adam Garcia, Timothy Renouf and Gloria García in supporting roles.

The film received a film critics' rating of 5.1 out of 10 from 17 reviews, while audiences were more favorable: it holds a 5.8 out of 10 on IMDb from around 12,000 votes and a 6.7 out of 10 on TMDB from roughly 500 votes.
