The Girl Who Believes in Miracles

Sara Hopkins is a twelve-year-old girl whose life changes during a visit to her grandfather. After claiming to have seen Jesus by a river, she begins to pray with a fervor that the people around her cannot ignore. When a preacher tells her that faith can move mountains, she takes the message literally, and before long animals and townspeople alike are being healed in ways no one can explain. Word of the girl spreads quickly, drawing crowds, reporters and intense public attention, and the pressure of her new reputation begins to wear on her and on her family. Her parents and others close to her must figure out how to protect her as the demands on her grow.

Rich Correll directed the film, his third feature after Ski Patrol in 1990 and Mostly Ghostly in 2008, and he also wrote the screenplay with G.M. Mercier and produced alongside Kevin Waller and Laurence J. Jaffe. The cast is led by Austyn Johnson as Sara, with Mira Sorvino as her mother Bonnie, Kevin Sorbo as Dr. Ben Riley, Peter Coyote as Sam Donovan, Burgess Jenkins as her father Alex and Tommi Rose as Cindy Kramer. It is a family drama from the United States that runs 100 minutes.

The film opened in April 2021 and took in about 3 million dollars worldwide, a modest result. On IMDb it holds a 6.2 rating from roughly 2,200 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 7.4 from a much smaller group of 116 voters.
