Zombivli is set in Dombivli, a suburban town outside Mumbai, where a wall divides a comfortable middle-class neighbourhood from the slums beside it. Sudhir and Seema, a recently married couple, live on the privileged side without much hardship, while Vishwas, who grew up in the slums, wants a life of dignity for the people around him. When darkness falls, the town fills with cries and moans that do not come from human throats: a deadly outbreak turns neighbours into zombies, and the two worlds are forced together as the characters try to survive the night.
The film was directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, working from a screenplay by Siddhesh Purkar and Sainath Ganuwad, and produced by Siddharth Anand Kumar and Vikram Mehra for Yoodlee Films and Saregama India. It mixes comedy, drama and horror across a 134-minute runtime and stars Amey Wagh as Sudhir, Vaidehi Parshurami as Seema and Lalit Prabhakar as Vishwas, with Janaki Pathak, Sharat Sonu and Trupti Khamkar in supporting roles. It was released in January 2022.
Zombivli sits between Sarpotdar's Faster Fene and Munjya in his filmography. It took about 2 million US dollars worldwide, a modest figure consistent with a mid-budget regional release, and holds a 6.7 rating on IMDb from roughly 1,700 votes. The much smaller TMDB sample, only a handful of votes, shows the same average.
