Bo Burnham: Inside

Bo Burnham: Inside is a musical comedy special written, directed, shot and performed by Bo Burnham entirely on his own during the COVID-19 lockdown. Confined to a single room, he tries to keep himself occupied and in good spirits by putting together a one-man show over the course of an unusually strange year. The result mixes songs, sketches and comic performance into a genre-blurring piece that sits somewhere between comedy and drama, with Burnham as its only cast member, appearing as himself.

The special is Burnham's third directorial credit, following Bo Burnham: Make Happy in 2016 and the feature Eighth Grade in 2018. He also wrote the screenplay and produced alongside Josh Senior, with Attic Bedroom as the production company. Running 88 minutes, it was released in July 2021.

Audiences have responded strongly: on IMDb it holds 8.6 out of 10 from roughly 59,000 votes, and on TMDB it rates 8 out of 10 from around 641 votes. The much larger IMDb sample and the high marks on both platforms indicate a widely seen special that has been received favourably by viewers.
