Short description
This comedy drama takes place on December 31, 1999, at the Palace Hotel, a gothic castle located in a snowy valley of the Swiss Alps. As the world prepares for the new millennium, a diverse group of wealthy, eccentric guests arrives for the New Year's Eve celebration. The hotel staff must manage the bizarre and demanding requests of these visitors, leading to conflicts driven by the guests' own whims and prejudices.
The film was directed by Roman Polanski, marking the 23rd film in his career following An Officer and a Spy. Polanski also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Jerzy Skolimowski and Ewa Piaskowska. The cast features Oliver Masucci as the hotel director Hansueli, alongside Fanny Ardant, John Cleese, Bronwyn James, Joaquim de Almeida, and Luca Barbareschi.
