Daughters

Daughters is a comedy-drama about two long-time friends, Martha and Betty. The story follows Martha as she accompanies her father, who claims to want assisted dying, on a trip to Switzerland. During the journey, Martha discovers her father faked his intentions to reunite with a former love at Lake Maggiore. Meanwhile, Betty deals with the grief surrounding her stepfather, Ernesto, who was believed to have passed away years prior.

The film was directed by Nana Neul, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Lucy Tanja Fricke. This was the first of two films directed by Neul, followed by Familie is nich in 2024. The production was a collaboration between companies in Germany, Greece, and Italy, including Warner Bros. Film Productions Germany and Heimatfilm.
