Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs continues the adventures of Manny the mammoth, Sid the sloth and Diego the saber-toothed tiger. Manny and Ellie are expecting their first child, while Diego worries he is losing his predatory edge and Sid, longing for a family of his own, takes three eggs he finds. The eggs belong to a dinosaur, and when the mother carries Sid off, his friends set out to rescue him. Their search leads them into a lush world hidden beneath the ice, where they meet dinosaurs and a one-eyed, dinosaur-hunting weasel named Buck. Scrat, meanwhile, is still chasing his acorn.

Carlos Saldanha directed, following Gone Nutty and Ice Age: The Meltdown in his filmography and preceding Rio. Michael Berg, Peter Ackerman and Mike Reiss wrote the screenplay, and Lori Forte, John C. Donkin and Patrick Worlock produced. Ray Romano, John Leguizamo and Denis Leary return as the voices of Manny, Sid and Diego, with Simon Pegg joining as Buck and Seann William Scott and Josh Peck as Crash and Eddie.

Released in June 2009, the film runs 94 minutes and cost about 90 million dollars, going on to earn roughly 887 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds 6.9/10 from 284,000 votes, and on TMDB 6.8/10 from 9,077 votes. A critics' rating of 5.6/10 from 164 reviews places it below both audience scores.
