Set in early 1900s Italy, this drama follows a young woman named Agata who gives birth to a stillborn daughter. Refusing to accept that her child will remain an unbaptized soul in limbo, Agata travels toward the snowy mountains of the north. She seeks a legendary sanctuary where it is said that dead infants can be briefly revived for the purpose of baptism. Along her journey through forests and mists, she meets a mysterious person named Lince who provides assistance.
The film was directed by Laura Samani, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Marco Borromei and Elisa Dondi. This was the first of two films directed by Samani, preceding A Year of School. The production was a collaboration between companies from Italy, Slovenia, and France. The main cast features Celeste Cescutti as Agata and Ondina Quadri as Lince, with a total of 26 credited performers.
The movie has received generally positive feedback from viewers. On IMDb, it holds a rating of 7/10 based on 1,100 votes, while on TMDB, it has a rating of 6.9/10 from 60 votes.
