Mira

Set in the near future, the story follows Lera Arabova, a fifteen-year-old girl living in Vladivostok. Her father, Arabov, is an astronaut stationed on the Mira space station and has spent years distant from his daughter. When a meteor shower strikes the city and threatens a larger catastrophe, Lera must find a way to protect her family and her hometown. From his orbit, Arabov uses satellite surveillance and phone communication to guide Lera and provide the warnings necessary to prevent further disaster.

This Russian adventure and science fiction drama was directed by Dmitry Kiselev, following his previous works Black Lightning, The Spacewalker, and Chernobyl: Zone of Exclusion. The film stars Veronika Ustimova as Lera and Anatoliy Belyy as her father, with a supporting cast that includes Darya Moroz, Maksim Lagashkin, Evgeny Egorov, and Andrey Smolyakov. The screenplay was written by Ekaterina Mavromatis and Timofey Dekin.
