Andrea Gets a Divorce

Andrea is a rural police officer who wishes to leave her marriage and move to the city to work as a detective inspector. Her plans are disrupted after a birthday party when her intoxicated husband runs in front of her vehicle. Shocked by the accident, Andrea flees the scene. A local religion teacher and recovering alcoholic named Franz begins to believe he was the driver, leading the community to view him as the culprit. While Franz descends into a spiral of drinking, Andrea attempts to hide the truth.

This Austrian comedy-drama was directed by Josef Hader, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Florian Kloibhofer. Following his 2017 film Wild Mouse, this production features Birgit Minichmayr in the title role, with Josef Hader also appearing as Franz.
