Terminal Velocity

Terminal Velocity follows Ditch Brodie, a skydiving instructor whose student, Chris Morrow, appears to fall to her death during a jump. Blamed for the accident, Ditch begins looking into what happened and finds that Chris is alive, a former KGB agent, and caught up in a scheme involving stolen gold and the Russian mafia. He is drawn into helping her.

The film was directed by Deran Sarafian, the fourth of the features listed for him and the one that followed Death Warrant. David Twohy wrote the screenplay and produced alongside Tom Engelman and Scott Kroopf. Charlie Sheen plays Ditch, with Nastassja Kinski as Chris, and James Gandolfini, Christopher McDonald, Gary Bullock and Melvin Van Peebles among the supporting cast.

Released in September 1994, the film had a budget of about 50 million dollars but took in roughly 16 million worldwide, a large shortfall. On IMDb it holds 5.5 out of 10 from around 16,000 votes, and on TMDB 5.4 out of 10 from 295 votes, while a critics' rating stands at 3.9 out of 10 from 24 reviews, lower than the audience scores. The production was an international one, spanning the United States, Canada and Russia.
