Barbie in A Mermaid Tale 2

Merliah Summers is a surfing champion who is also a mermaid princess from the kingdom of Oceana. While visiting Australia to compete in a surfing tournament, she discovers that an antagonist named Eris has escaped from her prison. Eris intends to seize the throne of Oceana, forcing Merliah to team up with her underwater friends to stop the takeover. Throughout the conflict, Merliah learns the importance of staying true to herself while navigating her life between two different worlds.

This animated family film was produced by Mattel and Rainmaker Entertainment in Canada and the United States. It was directed by William Lau, marking the ninth film in his career of 15 directed works, following Barbie: A Fairy Secret and preceding Barbie Mariposa & the Fairy Princess.
