Sam Cowell is a stand-up comedian and former au pair dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder. When she learns that Brooke, a teenage girl she once nannied, has gone missing, Sam must decide if she should help with the search. As she attempts to overcome her trauma and return to performing, she is forced to confront memories of the bond she shared with Brooke and the circumstances surrounding the girl's disappearance.
