Short description
When Scott learns that his longtime cyber-buddy from Berlin is a gorgeous young woman, he and his friends embark on a trip across Europe.

What's left behind the scenes

  • Filming of the picture began on May 5, 2003, in Prague, lasted 10 weeks, and ended in mid-July.
  • The working title of the film was “Ugly Americans,” but due to events in Iraq, the title was deemed too provocative. Several other titles were then considered, such as “A Fistful of Euros,” “Europe on $07 a Day,” “Going Abroad,” “Road Trip: Let’s Go Europe!,” “Scott Does Europe,” and “What a Frau Wants.” But they settled on the short title “Eurotrip.”
  • The beer kegs at the graduation party were actually filled with beer. According to the film's directors, Jeff Schaffer, Alec Berg, and David Mandel, during the filming of the scene with Cooper, Jacob Pitts was genuinely drunk after the bathtub incident.
  • 95% of the film was shot in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. Using image compositing, views of entire streets, as well as Big Ben (the clock tower of the Palace of Westminster) and other European landmarks, were included in the film.
  • During the filming of the “nudity” scene on the beach, Jacob Pitts was in no hurry to put his shorts back on because he really enjoyed how uncomfortable everyone else felt at the time.
  • During the filming of the first take with Michelle Trachtenberg in a bikini, she shook her head so vigorously that she became dizzy and the actress fell.
  • When Scotty reads the letter from Mike, he looks up the word "zussamen" in the dictionary. But the word isn't in the text, and when the camera zooms in on the letter, the word appears.
