Detention

Sam Decker is a former special forces soldier working as a teacher at a high school for troubled students. While supervising a group of pupils during after-school detention, the campus is invaded by a criminal gang. The intruders intend to use the school as a base for a drug-related heist and plan to eliminate any witnesses. Decker must use his military training to lead the students in a fight for survival against the armed assailants.

This Canadian action thriller was directed by Sidney J. Furie. It is the 12th of 13 films he directed, following Iron Eagle on the Attack and preceding Direct Action. The movie stars Dolph Lundgren in the lead role, alongside Alex Karzis, Kata Dobó, Danielle Hampton, Jennifer Baxter, and Shawn Roberts. The production was funded by Nu Image, Millennium Media, GFT Entertainment, and GFT Detention Films Inc. with a budget of 5 million USD.

The film received a mixed to poor reception from both audiences and critics. It holds a rating of 4.1/10 on IMDb based on 2,600 votes and 4.4/10 on TMDB from 65 votes. Film critics provided a similar score of 4.3/10 from 38 reviews.
