This One Summer

A young girl named Dune spends her summer vacations on the coast of France with her parents, where she spends her time with her close friend Mathilde. The two girls share various activities, such as exploring forests and secretly watching horror movies. After a previous year spent away from their usual destination, Dune returns feeling that her environment and family dynamics have shifted. As she moves away from early childhood, she becomes more observant of the behaviors and secrets of the teenagers and adults around her.

The comedy-drama was directed by Eric Lartigau, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Delphine Gleize. This project follows Lartigau's previous works, including The Players, The Bélier Family, and #Iamhere. The film features Rose Pou Pellicer as Dune and Juliette Havelange as Mathilde, with a supporting cast that includes Marina Foïs, Gael García Bernal, Chiara Mastroianni, and Ángela Molina. Produced by Alain Attal, the movie had a budget of 8 million USD.
