The House

Emma, a 27-year-old French novelist, moves to Berlin to research the world of sex work for her upcoming book. To gain firsthand knowledge, she takes a job at a local brothel. Although she initially intends to stay for only a few weeks, her experience lasts for two years. As she immerses herself in this environment, she faces the dangers of the profession and struggles with isolation, leading her to question whether the book was merely a pretext to fulfill a personal fantasy.

The film was directed by Anissa Bonnefont, marking the first of two films she has directed. The screenplay was written by Bonnefont and Diastème. The cast is led by Ana Girardot as Emma, appearing alongside Aure Atika, Rossy de Palma, Yannick Renier, Philippe Rebbot, and Gina Jimenez.
