The Missile

Set in Finnish Lapland during December 1984, this comedy-drama follows Niina, a single mother and small-town reporter. After a Soviet missile crashes near her village, Niina becomes determined to uncover the truth behind the incident. She faces a difficult challenge as she attempts to alert the local population to the danger, but the residents of the town remain largely indifferent to the event and the potential for nuclear conflict, even as government forces arrive in the area.

Written and directed by Miia Tervo, the film is a joint production between Finland and Estonia, involving production companies Elokuvayhtiö Komeetta, Stellar Film, and Aurora Studios. The movie stars Oona Airola in the lead role of Niina, supported by a cast that includes Pyry Kähkönen, Hannu-Pekka Björkman, Minea Köngäs, Aatos Höglund, and Oliver Heikkala.
