Vincent Must Die

Vincent is a designer whose life unravels when colleagues and strangers suddenly attack him with lethal intent, apparently for no reason. What begins as a single incident at his workplace grows into a pattern: anyone who looks at him seems driven to violence. Forced to abandon his ordinary routine, he goes on the run, and the attacks increasingly reach the people around him. Among the few he meets along the way is Margaux, while a stranger he encounters during his flight offers an explanation for what is happening to him. The film moves between horror, science fiction, fantasy and dark comedy as Vincent searches for a way to survive a world that has turned against him.

The Belgian-French production was released in November 2023 and runs 109 minutes. It marks the feature debut of director Stéphan Castang, who wrote the screenplay with Mathieu Naert and Dominique Baumard. Karim Leklou leads the cast as Vincent, with Vimala Pons as Margaux and François Chattot as Vincent's father, among 26 credited performers. The budget was around 4 million dollars, a modest scale for a genre film of this kind.

On IMDb the film holds 6.4 out of 10 from roughly 3,800 votes, and on TMDB 6.2 out of 10 from about 229 votes. A critics' rating of 7.1 out of 10 from 30 reviews places it above both audience scores, suggesting reviewers responded more warmly to its mix of genres and its increasingly violent premise than general viewers did.
