The Fabulous Four

Three friends who have known each other for decades travel to Key West, Florida, to serve as bridesmaids at the surprise wedding of Marilyn, a friend from their college years. Reunited in the seaside setting, the women find old bonds revived and buried history coming back to the surface. Drinks, romantic entanglements and long-simmering tensions combine to push each of their lives in directions none of them anticipated.

The Fabulous Four is a comedy-drama directed by Jocelyn Moorhouse, who wrote the screenplay with Jenna Milly and Ann Marie Allison. It arrived in 2024, nine years after her previous feature, The Dressmaker, and is the fifth film she has directed. Susan Sarandon plays Lou, Bette Midler plays Marilyn, Megan Mullally plays Alice and Sheryl Lee Ralph plays Kitty, with Sophie von Haselberg and Déjá Dee also in the cast. The production was split between Australia and the United States, with Richard Barton Lewis and Lauren Hantz producing.

Released in July 2024, the film took in roughly 4 million dollars worldwide, a modest return. Audiences have been divided on it: on IMDb it holds a rating of 4.9 from around 2,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6 out of 10 from a much smaller pool of about 30 votes.
