Jack Stanfield is a senior computer security specialist at a Seattle bank. He built his reputation by designing the systems that keep the bank's deposits safe from hackers, and he lives comfortably with his wife and two children. What he does not realize is that a criminal named Bill Cox has been watching him and his family closely for months, gathering every detail of their daily lives. When Cox and his accomplices take Jack's family hostage inside their home, Jack is forced to turn against the very protections he created. He must move a large sum of money out of the bank and into an offshore account, working under pressure while trying to keep his family alive.

Richard Loncraine directed the film, which came after Wimbledon (2004) and is the sixth of the eight features listed in his directing career. Joe Forte wrote the screenplay, and the producers were Armyan Bernstein, Jonathan Shestack and Basil Iwanyk. Harrison Ford plays Jack, with Paul Bettany as Bill Cox, Virginia Madsen as his wife Beth, Carly Schroeder and Jimmy Bennett as the children, and Mary Lynn Rajskub as Janet Stone.

Made on a budget of 45 million USD, the film earned 83 million USD worldwide. On IMDb it holds 5.8 out of 10 from 61,000 votes, and on TMDB also 5.8 out of 10, from 1,063 votes. A film critics' rating of 4.7 out of 10 drawn from 158 reviews places it below the audience scores.
