The Return

Odysseus returns to Ithaca after twenty years away, having left to fight in the Trojan War. Now unrecognizable and worn down, the king finds his homeland changed. His wife, Penelope, is held captive in her own home by suitors who pressure her to marry one of them to claim the throne. Meanwhile, their son Telemachus faces deadly threats from these men, who view him as an obstacle to their ambitions. No longer the powerful warrior remembered by his people, Odysseus must confront his past to rescue his family and regain his love.

The film was directed by Uberto Pasolini, following his previous works Still Life and Nowhere Special. The screenplay was written by Edward Bond, John Collee, and Pasolini. The production is a collaboration between the United Kingdom, Greece, Italy, and France, featuring a main cast that includes Ralph Fiennes, Juliette Binoche, and Charlie Plummer.
