The Dreamlife of Angels

Two twenty-year-old women, Isa and Marie, form a close bond while working in a French garment factory. They eventually share an apartment that Marie is housesitting for a hospitalized family. While Isa spends time reading a diary to a comatose girl to discover her past, Marie enters a relationship with a wealthy nightclub owner named Chriss to escape poverty. Isa believes the romance is futile, and her efforts to protect Marie create tension that threatens their friendship.

The drama was directed by Erick Zonca, marking the first of three films he directed, followed by White Soldier and Black Tide. The screenplay was a collaboration between Zonca, Roger Bohbot, and Pierre Chosson. The lead roles were played by Élodie Bouchez, Natacha Régnier, and Grégoire Colin.
