Marmalade

Baron is in prison and shares a cell with Otis, a man who has escaped custody more than once. The two become friendly and begin working out a plan to break out, while Baron looks back on how he met Marmalade, the woman he loves, and on the scheme they devised together: robbing a bank in the style of Bonnie and Clyde, both to pay for care for his sick mother and to buy the couple the future they had long imagined.

Marmalade is a crime story with comic, romantic and thriller elements, made in the United Kingdom and the United States from a screenplay by Keir O'Donnell, who also directs. Joe Keery plays Baron, Camila Morrone plays Marmalade and Aldis Hodge plays Otis, with Ozioma Akagha, Wayne Duvall and Amy Warner among the supporting cast. The film runs 99 minutes and was released in February 2024.

Audience response is moderately positive on IMDb, where it holds 6.3 out of 10 from roughly 4,500 votes, and higher on TMDB at 6.7 from a much smaller sample of about 130 votes. A critics' rating of 6.4 from 37 reviews places professional assessment close to the IMDb figure, slightly below the TMDB score.
