Antitrust

Antitrust is a 2001 crime drama about Milo Hoffman, a gifted young programmer who joins the research team of Gary Winston, the head of a powerful software company called N.U.R.V. Milo's arrival at the firm comes as other programmers are dying under unexplained circumstances, and he gradually comes to suspect that the company he has joined is behind far more than it admits. The film sets Milo's ambition against a corporation determined to protect its dominance, and follows his efforts to find out what is really going on inside it.

Peter Howitt directed the film, which was written by Howard Franklin and produced by Nick Wechsler, Keith Addis and David Nicksay. It was Howitt's second feature, following Sliding Doors (1998). Ryan Phillippe leads the cast as Milo, with Tim Robbins as Gary Winston, Rachael Leigh Cook, Claire Forlani, Richard Roundtree and Tygh Runyan among the credited cast of 26. The film was made for a budget of 30 million US dollars and took about 18 million US dollars worldwide.
