Lost Country

Set in Belgrade in 1996, this drama focuses on fifteen-year-old Stefan during a period of student protests against the Milosevic regime. While the city is in turmoil, Stefan undergoes a personal struggle as he discovers his mother is an accomplice to the government's crimes. The story follows his attempt to reconcile his love for her with the need to confront her actions.

The film was directed by Vladimir Perišić, following his 2009 film Ordinary People. Perišić also served as a producer and co-wrote the screenplay with Alice Winocour. The lead roles are played by Jovan Ginić as Stefan and Jasna Đuričić as Marklena. This production was a collaboration between companies from Luxembourg, Serbia, France, and Croatia, including ARTE France Cinéma and Easy Riders Films.
