Short description
4400 centers on the return of 4400 people who, previously presumed dead or reported missing, reappear on Earth. Though they have not aged physically, some of them seem to have deeper alterations ranging from superhuman strength to an unexplained healing touch. A government agency is formed to track the 4400 people after one of them commits a murder.

What's left behind the scenes
- The first season was produced by Viacom Productions, and the second by Paramount Network Television, after the latter was acquired by the former in 2005.
- For promotional purposes, photographs of people were purchased from various specialized agencies and presented in the series as some of the 4,400 missing people. This was done to save costs, as otherwise, actors would have had to be paid for the use of their likenesses in advertising.
- The lake where the missing people return is the same one filmed in one of the episodes of the first season of 'The X-Files' (1993-2018).
- When the series was first conceived, it was intended that viewers would only find out who kidnapped all these people in the 5th season. However, the rights were acquired in the US and it was turned into a mini-series, so this was revealed as early as the 5th episode.
