What's left behind the scenes
- The series was not continued because the lead actor, Dermot Morgan, passed away unexpectedly in 1998.
- After the first episode aired, the creators received two complaints: one criticized the project for being too biased against the Roman Catholic Church, while the other criticized it for glorifying the Roman Catholic Church too much.
- One of the most popular comedy series in the history of British television. In 1996 and 1999, it won the BAFTA Award for Best Comedy Sitcom. In 2012, viewers of Channel 4 voted it first place in a list of the 30 best sitcoms.
