What's left behind the scenes
- Before filming began for the 5th season, Jennifer Garner announced that she was expecting a child. The show's creators had to order that her pregnancy be written into the script.
- Each of Jennifer Garner's wigs cost around $5,000. As a rule, the actress required a new wig for every episode, although some were occasionally reused.
- Jennifer Garner was cast as Sydney Bristow only after her fifth audition.
- All indoor scenes were filmed at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California. The street scenes for episodes set in American cities and abroad were also filmed there.
- The Derevko sisters from Russia are played by actresses of Swedish, Italian, and Brazilian descent.
- The story told by Jennifer Garner's character, which the viewer hears in the first episode of the first season, was recorded over the phone. The actress was on set and read the text into the phone to the show's creator, J.J. Abrams, who recorded it and later inserted it into the series.
