What's left behind the scenes
- The screenplay adaptation of the story "Battleground" was written by Richard Christian Matheson, son of Richard Burton Matheson. "Battleground" is very similar in plot to Richard Burton Matheson's story "Prey." In both stories, the protagonist finds himself trapped in his apartment and forced to face hostile toys.
- The miniseries included eight stories, but only five of them were taken from the collection "Nightmares and Dreamscapes." "Battleground" is from the collection "Night Shift," while "Road Terror Heads North" and "Autopsy Room Four" are from "Everything's Eventual."
- Not a single word is spoken throughout the entire episode of "Battleground."
- In the story "Ammy's Last Case," Sam Landry's son died from a head injury after falling from a swing; in the screen adaptation, he drowned in a pool.
