What's left behind the scenes
- Saga Norén drives a 1977 Porsche 911S (the car was built according to American technical standards and for the American market).
- For the Danes, saying "Hej" once serves as a greeting, while saying it twice serves as a farewell.
- The French channel Canal+ and the English channel Sky Atlantic created their own version of the series. It is called "The Tunnel," and the bridge there is replaced by the tunnel connecting Folkestone and Calais.
- Season 1, Episode 1: in the scene where the journalist Daniel first appears on screen, a colleague mentions that he downloaded "Elephants in the Desert" from the web. This is not referring to a song, album, or band. It refers to a Radiohead concert in Sweden, which was planned in secret and performed without any announcements, let alone the promotional campaigns that usually accompany such performances. At this concert, the band introduced themselves as "Elephants in the Desert."
- From 2013 to 2015, the American channel FX aired a remake of "The Bridge" starring Diane Kruger and Demián Bichir. The remake was set on the US-Mexico border, where a body was discovered on the bridge between El Paso and Juárez. Two seasons of 13 episodes each were filmed before the project was canceled.
- In the second episode of the second season, when Martin drives bullies away from the car, he draws a pistol from his holster. When he puts the pistol back, the slide is locked back. Apparently, the actor tried to rack the slide during filming, and since there were no rounds in the magazine, the pistol went into slide lock.
