What's left behind the scenes

  • During the filming of the series, actress Marina Aleksandrova was pregnant (approximately six months), which can be noticed if you look closely—in almost all shots, Aleksandrova is filmed from the waist up, or she covers her stomach with a bag.
  • The series was filmed in the spring of 2012 in Tutayev, Yaroslavl, and Moscow.
  • The idea of the rag doll, which the serial killer could not part with due to a morbid attachment, was taken almost entirely from one of the novellas in the 1945 film anthology 'Deep into the Night'.
  • In one of her interviews, Zoya Dzyublo admitted that she developed the character of Cherkasov based on Gleb Zheglov from the film "The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed."
  • Alexander Baluev also auditioned for the role of Cherkasov.
  • In the second episode, at the 20-minute mark, a song from the film "I Step Through Moscow」 performed by Nikita Mikhalkov is heard. Since the film itself was released on April 11, 1964, it is unlikely that this song could have been playing in December 1962, when the series takes place.
  • In the fourth episode, at the 39-minute mark, Stas Shelest quotes a song from the cartoon KOAPP ("Something happened somewhere, oy-oy-oy-oy-oy"), which was not released until 1984.
  • In episode 8, while pronouncing the sentence for the maniac, the judge says, "The Judicial Chamber for Criminal Cases of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation...", although the series is set in 1962 in the USSR.
  • In the eighth episode, during the reading of the sentence, the phrase "maximum measure of punishment" is used. Such an adjective could not have been in the sentence, because according to Article 23 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR, the death penalty is an exceptional measure of punishment, not the maximum.
  • In the fourth episode, at the four-minute mark, Peretyagin's case is examined, which indicates that Peretyagin was born on April 18, 1976 (!), and is a citizen of the Russian Federation (meaning the person arrived from the future). Furthermore, this isn't even Peretyagin's case, as a certain Sergei Viktorovich Kotyarov is listed as the defendant.
