What's left behind the scenes
- Alex O'Loughlin, who played Mick St. John, chose the ring on his character's finger from nearly 100 options offered by the jeweler.
- Initially, it was intended that the main character, Mick St. John, would be named Mike Angel. The name was changed to avoid confusion with Joss Whedon's series 'Angel' (1999-2004). The series itself was originally intended to be titled 'Twilight,' but this also had to be changed due to the emergence of Stephenie Meyer's popular 'Twilight' novel series.
- When the show's ratings indicated it would be renewed, Alex O'Loughlin (who played the lead) signed a three-year contract. Due to the writers' strike, work on the project fell behind the original schedule; by the time filming resumed, ratings had dropped, and it was decided to cancel the series. As compensation (since the contract had already been signed), the actor was offered a role in the medical drama 'Three Rivers' (2009), which he accepted. When that series was canceled after its first season, O'Loughlin was offered the lead role in the series 'Hawaii Five-0' (2010-2020).
