Short description
The year is 2022, and after an unlikely event, only one man is left on earth: Phil Miller, who used to be just an average guy who loved his family and hated his job at the bank. Now, in his RV, Phil searches the country for other survivors.

What's left behind the scenes
- “Stivers Store” — creator Will Forte gave the store this name because his mother's maiden name was Stivers.
- In the episode "Some Damn Fat Guy," Melissa says that her favorite movie is "The Shawshank Redemption" (directed by Frank Darabont, 1994). She then remembers "The Godfather" (directed by Francis Ford Coppola, 1972), which she calls her "second, like, favorite movie."
- In the episode "She's Driving Me Crazy," Kristen Schaal finds herself in her own home with a cow that refuses to go down the stairs. A similar situation is depicted in the episode "Sacred Cow" of the animated TV sitcom "Bob's Burgers."
- Will Forte's character is named Phil. He also played a character with the same name in Sean Anders' comedy 'Daddy's Home' (2012).
- The show's main character, Phil Miller, is named after executive producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.
- Phil Miller's middle name is Tendy. 'Tendy' is a diminutive form of the name Andrew, which is the middle name of Carol Pilbeige (played by Kristen Schaal).
