What's left behind the scenes
- In the eighth episode of the sixth season, the college director tells Liv about how he once danced disco during an exam to help a girl pass. That girl is Cassie, and the incident is shown in the ninth episode of the second season.
- In the first episode of the third season, Cook opens a school locker containing a porn magazine, a bottle of vodka, and a black beanie. He burns the contents of the locker. Interestingly, the name "Sid" is written on the door, suggesting the locker previously belonged to Sid from the early seasons.
- In the sixth episode of the third season, it can be noted that the car Kiron drives is a right-hand drive modification of the Soviet VAZ-2104.
- All school scenes were filmed at the John Cabot Academy.
- The broadcast of the series pilot attracted 1.5 million viewers.
- A special short episode titled "The Rookies' Secret Party" was filmed on August 2, 2007, and posted on MySpace.
- When Anwar has sex for the first time with Sketch, Maxi's stalker, he lists all of Hugh Grant's movies. At the end, he says: "I never made it to the movie 'I Am Curious in the Body of a Woman' [My Boy]." This is the film in which a young Nicholas Hoult played the role of Tony Stonem.
