The Social Media Heroes program is an initiative of the Atlanta Mayor’s Office, in partnership with the Atlanta Police Department and the Atlanta Community Foundation. The program is designed to empower young people to use social media to promote positive change in their communities.

The Social Media Heroes program is looking for individuals who are passionate about using social media to make a difference. Candidates should have a strong understanding of the power of social media and be able to use it to create positive change in their community. Candidates should also have a strong sense of civic responsibility and be willing to take on a leadership role in their community.

The Social Media Heroes program will provide training and support to help candidates become effective social media advocates. Candidates will be expected to create and share content that promotes positive change in their communities. This could include creating and sharing videos, photos, and stories about the positive aspects of their community. Candidates should also be willing to engage with their community and share their experiences and stories.

The Social Media Heroes program is open to all Atlanta residents between the ages of 13 and 25. To apply, candidates must submit a video application that outlines why they would make a great Social Media Hero. The video should be no longer than two minutes and should include a brief description of the candidate’s experience and qualifications, as well as their vision for how they would use social media to make a positive impact in their community.

The deadline to apply is August 15th, 2021. Selected candidates will be invited to participate in an in-person audition in Atlanta. The audition will include an interview and a presentation on how the candidate plans to use social media to make a positive impact in their community.
