Queens of Drama

Set in 2055, the story is framed by a YouTuber named Steevyshady who reflects on the life of pop star Mimi Madamour. Through his perspective, the film traces Mimi's trajectory from her sudden rise to fame during a 2005 casting show to her eventual decline. The narrative focuses on Mimi's turbulent romantic relationship with Billie Kohler, a punk musician who rejected the demands of the music industry. As Mimi becomes a global pop icon, her connection with the underground success of Billie creates a central conflict that shapes both of their careers over several decades.

This Belgian and French co-production was directed by Alexis Langlois, following his previous works Trinkets and Dark Thoughts, Your Young Years Will Dry Your Tears, and El sueño. The film features a cast including Louiza Aura, Gio Ventura, Bilal Hassani, Alma Jodorowsky, Nana Benamer, and Asia Argento. The screenplay was written by Langlois alongside Thomas Colineau and Charlotte Janon. Since its release in November 2024, the movie has maintained a positive reception from its limited audience, holding a rating of 7.4/10 on TMDB based on 13 votes.
