Edison

In the city of Edison, a young journalist named Josh Pollack begins looking into an elite police unit known as FRAT and finds evidence of corruption reaching far beyond a few officers. Lacking the backing of his employer, he joins forces with a veteran reporter, Ashford, and a district attorney's investigator, Wallace, to gather proof against those responsible. Their most important source is a police officer named Deed, who is caught up in the unit's activities and is weighing whether to testify. As the inquiry advances, the people Pollack is trying to expose turn their attention toward him.

The film was directed by David J. Burke, who also wrote the screenplay, and it was released in 2005. It is the first of two features he directed that year, followed by Animal. The cast is led by Justin Timberlake as Pollack, Morgan Freeman as Ashford, Kevin Spacey as Wallace, LL Cool J as Deed, Dylan McDermott as Lazerov and Cary Elwes as Reigert. The production drew on a budget of 25 million USD and was made by Nu Image, Millennium Media, Ascendant Pictures and VIP Medienfonds 3, with Boaz Davidson, George Furla and Randall Emmett producing.

The worldwide box office came to about 4 million USD. On IMDb, the film holds a rating of 5.3 out of 10 from roughly 17,000 votes, and on TMDB it also stands at 5.3 out of 10, from 376 votes. A critics' rating of 3.4 out of 10, based on nine reviews, places it below both audience scores.
