Sword Art Online: Extra Edition

This adventure animation blends a recap of the first season with a new story. Kirito and his friends plan an underwater quest in the virtual world of Alfheim Online to help Yui see a whale. However, they discover that Suguha is afraid of water, leading Asuna and the other girls to teach her how to swim in the real world. While this takes place, Kirito reflects on previous decisive moments and meets with an acquaintance.

Directed by Tomohiko Ito, this project was the first of four films he directed, followed by Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale, Hello World, and The Keeper of the Camphor Tree. The voice cast includes Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Haruka Tomatsu, Kanae Ito, Ayana Taketatsu, Rina Hidaka, and Ayahi Takagaki. Produced by A-1 Pictures and SAO-P Project in Japan, the film has a runtime of 101 minutes.
