Driving Mum

After the death of his mother, a middle-aged man named Jón travels across the Icelandic landscape to fulfill her final wishes. Accompanied by his dog, Bresnef, Jón transports his mother's body in the back of his car to return her to her home village. Throughout the journey, Jón must navigate his grief and his previous subservient relationship with his mother while interacting with various people he meets along the way. This experience leads him to rethink his life and find a new sense of purpose.

The film was written and directed by Hilmar Oddsson and is a joint production between Iceland and Estonia.
