A woman named Ariadna travels to Burgos to help her grandfather find the remains of his father, who vanished during the Spanish Civil War. While there, she learns about Antoni Benaiges, a young teacher from Tarragona who taught her grandfather in 1935. Benaiges used progressive teaching methods to inspire his students in a remote village and promised to take them to see the ocean for the first time. However, his unconventional approach and goals faced opposition from conservative local figures and the government.
