Copper Canyon

Set in the town of Coppertown after the American Civil War, this western follows a group of copper miners who face harassment from local opponents led by Deputy Lane Travis. Seeking protection, the workers turn to Johnny Carter, a skilled marksman. While the miners believe Carter is actually a renowned colonel, he is a performer whose show eventually arrives in town. During his stay, Carter becomes romantically involved with Lisa Roselle, a gambler whom the miners suspect is linked to their hardships.

Directed by John Farrow, the film was released in 1950 as his third feature following Two Years Before the Mast and Red, Hot and Blue. It stars Ray Milland as Johnny Carter and Hedy Lamarr as Lisa Roselle, with Macdonald Carey playing the antagonist. The production was handled by Paramount and featured a screenplay by Jonathan Latimer.
