My Love

Set in nineteenth-century Russia, this animated drama follows Anton, a sixteen-year-old boy from a bourgeois family. As he searches for love, he finds himself torn between two very different women: a gentle servant in his household and an older woman from his own social class. Too shy to express his feelings in reality, Anton retreats into vivid fantasies where he imagines romantic adventures with both women.

The film was directed by Aleksandr Petrov, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Mikhail Tumelya and Tatyana Pavlovich. This project followed his 1999 film, The Old Man and the Sea. A joint production between Russia and Japan involving First Channel, Dentsu Tec, and Dago Productions, the short film features the voices of Aleksandra Zhivova, Yevgeniya Kryukova, Nina Ruslanova, Sergey Garmash, Aleksandr Palamishev, and Oleg Shcherbinin.

Released on April 8, 2006, the film has been well received by viewers. It holds a rating of 7.9/10 on IMDb based on 1,700 votes and a score of 7/10 on TMDB from 59 votes.
