Doraemon: Nobita's Great Adventure in the South Seas

Nobita and his friends set out on a voyage to find treasure and learn about the ocean, partly inspired by a school project. Using a magical door and a unique ship, the group travels to the Caribbean. However, a disturbance in space-time transports them back to the 17th century during a violent storm. After their ship crashes and Doraemon loses his magical pocket, the group must find a way home while dealing with pirates.

Directed by Tsutomu Shibayama, this adventure was the 19th of 25 films he directed, following Doraemon: Nobita and the Spiral City and preceding Doraemon: Nobita Drifts in the Universe. The screenplay was written by Fujiko F. Fujio and Nobuaki Kishima. The voice cast features Nobuyo Oyama, Noriko Ohara, Michiko Nomura, Kaneta Kimotsuki, Kazuya Tatekabe, and Tohru Emori.

The Japanese production, created by Shin-Ei Animation, Fujiko Productions, and Asatsu, earned 31 million USD at the worldwide box office. Audience reception is generally positive, with a rating of 7.2/10 on IMDb based on 1,000 votes and a score of 6.5/10 on TMDB from 66 votes.
