David and Alexis Weinberg are driving through heavy rain toward the last ferry to their private island off the Maine coast when they spot a bruised young man at the roadside. Despite their arguing, the wealthy Boston couple stop and offer him a lift, and he refuses to let them call the police. They help him anyway, which means missing the ferry, and the encounter does not end there: the stranger reappears in their lives, and over a weekend the three are drawn into a triangle of attraction and shifting motives that unsettles the marriage.
Adam Coleman Howard directed the film and wrote the screenplay with Justin Lazard; John N. Hart, Lazard and Jeffrey Sharp produced it for Killer Films and Hart-Sharp Entertainment. Alan Rickman and Polly Walker play the couple, with Norman Reedus as the young man. Running 84 minutes, the drama-thriller was released at the end of 1999.
On IMDb and TMDB the film sits at 5 out of 10, from 42 votes on TMDB, a modest showing for a low-profile release of that period.
