Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead follows Akira Tendo, a young man worn down by relentless overtime and a boss who makes his working life miserable. He feels less alive than the zombies he watches in movies, until an outbreak overruns his city. Rather than despair, Akira treats the collapse of ordinary life as a release from the office, and he sets out to experience everything he wants before he might join the undead himself, beginning with simple pleasures and building toward a list of goals he never had time for.
The Japanese production adapts the manga by Haro Aso into a live-action feature. Yusuke Ishida directs from a screenplay by Tatsuro Mishima, with Akira Morii producing for Robot Communications, Plus One Entertainment and Netflix. Eiji Akaso leads as Akira, alongside Mai Shiraishi, Shuntaro Yanagi, Kazuki Kitamura, Yui Ichikawa and Mayo Kawasaki. Running 129 minutes, it mixes action, comedy and horror.
On TMDB, the film holds a rating of 6.5 out of 10 from 641 votes, which suggests a generally favorable but not enthusiastic response from viewers. The premise trades the usual survival anxiety of the zombie genre for a story about escaping dead-end work, which gives the film its comic tone.
